Jes currently lives in New York where she pursues her careers in acting, modeling and design with a fiery passion.
Her love of film came at an early age but it was during her high school years that she began a serious pursuit of an acting career; this strong pursuit carried over to her college years. Jes started attending Laney community college in 2008. While enrolled at Laney she attended theatre courses, auditioned and performed in the school's productions; while also finding time to audition for independent projects outside of school.
While in school at Laney, as a bit of a leisure activity and business venture Jes founded, T U N C: Her clothing brand inspired by her art in silk screening, mixed media collage and her love of Pop-Art.
In 2012 she moved to New York and auditioned for NYU’s Drama School, Tisch. Though she was not accepted, despite the rejection she continued to pursue a career in acting; appearing in theatre, independent and short films,
In 2013 they landed a recurring role as an inmate on the successful Netflix series, ‘Orange is the New Black and in 2018 they landed a role on another Netflix series, ‘The Punisher.’ They have continued to be cast in smaller roles on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
In addition to her film & TV roles, Jes has also been cast in many an original theatre production. From her debut lead role as, “Annabelle” in the original theatre piece, ’NORTHBOUND’, a story of a young slave woman entangled in a torturous love affair with the slave master’s son; to her role as tHE reluctant hero, juror number 8 in a production of ‘12 Angry Women.’
Jes has also been recognized for her work in film, winning a few best actress awards and nominations for a Film she worked on back in 2018 titleD, ‘PLAY.’
Having Taken a brief hiatus from TUNC in 2011, Jes got back into designing in 2016; working with a new design influence and motifs rooted in the punk grunge and alternative cultures; with the center pieces being leather and safety pins. In October of 2016 she was approached to do her first fashion show with the Raw artist collective Organization; it was a success. From the strength of that show she was then asked to do another fashion show during New York Fashion Week in 2017, also a huge success. THE brand has since evolved from TUNC to TUNC BY JESXDAv. After the success of the two fore mentioned fashion shows she went on to do 3 more including another New York Fashion Week show in Feb 2018.

“A devised theatre piece drawing inspiration from contemporary Internet culture and narratives around mental illness, as well as accounts of Victorian insane asylums, “#SoSadSoSexy” is a devised play exploring Western culture’s ongoing fascination with, and misrepresentation of, depressed and unstable women. Through the overlapping stories of Lucy, a Victorian-era asylum patient, and Izzy, a modern-day “Internet sad girl," the piece crosses time and circumstance to reflect the parallels between each period’s approach to mental health, gender politics, and the personal and collective identities we create.”

TUNC by JESXDAV is a brand inspired by JES DAVIS' personal style; which can be described as punk, grunge, alternative, with a modern chic edge. The color scheme is black and lot of it. However there is room for colour as the designer has an affinity for 80's Pop-Art and its bold pastels You can purchase the clothes here.
The pop-art collages, shown here, are inspired by the 80's era pop art themes and colors. The art of Andy Warhol, Robert Liechtenstein and Tom Wesselmann are among the artists of which inspired the collages. The collages are hand crafted/composed; all of which are 11x14.
The original collage works can be purchased via this website. If you'd like one of the collages as a poster or post card, you may order them via Etsy. See the link below.
I was born with a Chronic Genetic lung condition, Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis or CF: is a condition where the body produces an excess of thick sticky mucus that attach primarily to the lungs and requires rigorous daily respiratory therapy to eradicate most of the mucus build up. Not only does the mucus affect the lungs but other vital organs as well: liver, kidneys, the digestive tract is another major system affected, making it difficult to gain weight. The body doesn’t retain nutrients or fat from food on it’s own, to do so require medications. So there’s that. I’m a bit wary a times about mentioning this part of my life as I don’t want it to define who I am, but it is a part of my life.
In May of 2015 I became involved with THE SALTY GIRLS, a group founded by photographer Ian Pettigrew to highlight the challenges and strength of women with Cystic Fibrosis compiled into a book of inspirational stories from these women and myself. It took a lot of back and forth conversations about whether or not to expose myself to the world like this. Private by nature, it’s always been helpful to me that CF isn’t an obvious physical condition. It was easy for me to hide and pretend to not be a CF patient, not hear pity or woe concerning my health. No one wants to hear that, you feel sorry for them at least I didn’t. So, doing Salty Girls for me meant, that might happen, that people would rally around me as the, ‘sick girl’, their ‘sick friend.’ Needless to say, that was all in my head. I was met with so much admiration and words complimenting my strength. It was empowering as I hadn't really conceptualized. I knew people thought I was strong, but hearing it was different, it was good, it felt great.
THE SALTY GIRLS project has been so successfull that it has expanded from the Books and Calendars to a magazine. if you'd like to support please visit the website and subscribe, or buy a book.
